Miss Aimon, Dr. Shabbir Sahib is quite right. Logically speaking, if casting the black magic and all these non-sense practises were this much influencial or real, then undoubtedley the magicians, fortunetellers and powerful Peer Babas would have been the supreme leaders of the world. A few of my friends once discussed with me about Jinns, Ghosts and their existence as they were confused about their own beliefs in Ghosts and my response to the interesting discussion was: that if these ghosts and jinns existed in reality, the airplanes would never have been flown by human pilots, instead, they would have been flown and conrolled by these so-called Ghosts". The human beings according to Islam is the best creature(Ashraf-ul-Makhloqaat) in this universe. I can certainly not claim to have a mind as much critical as that of Dr. Shabbir's but nevertheless, i often had strange feelings whenever I used to hear these irrational stories similar to the Grave-Woman one which Dr. Shabbir Sahib has talked about in his post.
As far as heresay is concerned, Dr. Shabbir Ahmad's quote about presenting or describing heresay as a "self seen" truth is interesting and thought provoking. Recall the famous irrational story that is told in personal gatherings in Pakistan even today that "in 1965 Indo-Pak war, some people or soldiers witnessed old saints dressed up in white coffins who suddenly appeared on the battlefield to help Pakistani soldiers and that they caught a lots of canon balls with their own hands to prevent the explosions in order to prevent the physical harm to Paki soldiers and defeat the Indian army". Now we shouldn't blame an Indian if he/she ever claims that they won the 1971 Indo-Pak war because some old Pandits dressed up in yellow coffins suddenly appeared on the battlefield and prevented Paki canon balls' explosions to defeat Pakistani Army. Also, it would be interesting to note that those Muslim Saints who are believed to appear on the battlefield in 65's war DID'NT appear in 1971 Indo-Pak war that took place just after 6 years and in that war, Pak army had to surrender that resulted in division of the country. Remember, such irrationalities and magic-based nonsense stories can do nothing besides messing with one's intellect and destroying rational thinking.
