The Qur'an tells us that we will be held accountable for our senses and thoughts as to how we used them.
40:19 He knows the treachery of the eyes, and all that the hearts would conceal.
[Treachery of the eyes = To look at others with temptation. See but not observe. To convey hearsay as if one has seen. Not lowering the gaze. Not using senses to full potential. Not learning from daily observation. Not using sight to develop the vision]
17:36 And you shall not follow blindly any information of which you have no direct knowledge. (Using your faculties of perception and conception) you must verify it for yourself. In the Court of your Lord, you will be held accountable for your hearing, sight, and the faculty of reasoning.
