My dear Brothers/Sisters,

I really loved what you wrote about love. I consider “Life” the most precious creation of God. Similarly, I consider the passion of “Love” to be the most powerful and priceless gift to us from our Creator. How powerful is the passion of love. Here is just one page from my own life story.

I dropped, rather forced, out of elementary school when I was in the 5th grade. Like other school dropouts in the village, I had no choice but to work in the fields. For your information in the villages in Pak if any child drops out of school, it is almost impossible for him/her to return. And whatever he/she has learned is forgotten. I was facing the same fate. It was my 5th year at the farm or fields when this happened and it changed my life altogether.

Some relatives from city paid a visit to the village. Among them was this pretty girl who caught my eyes instantly. But I was aware of the reality. A village boy working in the fields could never dream of marrying a city girl. To make it short I fled the village and resumed my education in the city. When I was in the last year of my high school, the girl got married to her first cousin. [Later some relatives told me that the girl wanted and even expressed her desire to marry me (Z) but her parents forced her to marry her first cousin, which is a common practice in Pak.]

You may wonder what the name of the girl was. Here is a piece from my favorite poet Iqbal’s poetry. You can find her name there.

آہ امید محبت کی بھر آی نہ کبھی
چوٹ مضراب کی اس ساز نے کھائی نہ کبھی
مگر آتی ہے نسیم چمن طور کبھی
سمت گردوں سے ہوائے نفس حور کبھی

Next incident occurred when I was a graduate student at the University of Punjab. This time the girl could not make a decision. Brother Dr. Shabbir can easily guess why. Anyway you can find her name in these lines. Sorry, I forgot the name of poet.

My two friends, Dr. Sajjad and Ghazla (Hassan Nisar’s sister) enjoyed the above lines, as they were aware of my situation.

In brief I have experienced an incredible evolution in my love. Now I love all things beautiful be they humans, animals, or anything in the nature. Of course I admire and love God, as He is the One who created all things beautiful.

How powerful is the passion of love? Nobody has explained it better than our beloved Iqbal. He says:

عشق ہے نور حیات عشق ہے نار حیات
عشق کے مضراب سے نغمہ تار حیات
