2:106 when read in context with the verses I quoted in my response can only mean previous scriptures that have been corrupted or lost. I do agree with you about all the meanings of ayat, but in this case it means previous scriptures, not signs of Allah, or evolution. Verses of the Quran must always be read in context and although our understanding can be helped by other verses, this is not the case here.

I fully agree with you that the Quran is fully complete and detailed enough for any right thinking man so NO VERSE or WORD would have been revealed by Allah to be included which later becomes obsolete or abrogated by another verse.

Please re-read the context of the verse and it becomes clear what was being spoken of.
