Does Allah excel one over other?

Dear all, my brother and friend Abdun Nur, asked me to translate this verse. Upon looking, it was shocking to find out that even the very common words; as we understand those today, were not meant the same at time of prophet. One such word is دُنْيا.

Badar

Those who depart from our shelter due to the suspension of opinions or actions, of the ample and easy state of life available from us. A means of gaining access to your Rabb. They are separated, just like a child becomes separated from their parents relating to the provisions of life. And when we bring this for their review, it stings them like a gnat; resulting in successively and progressively stinging those around them to become superior to one another; and to achieve this purpose of superiority, fighting and seizing one another lives and possessions in war. Hence those already stung, became more stung, so are mocked and become a laughing stock. Whereas the ample easy state of life, that gives access to your Rabb is far better than whatever they accumulate.
