""36:36 Glory to Him Who has created pairs of everything that the earth grows, and of themselves, and of things they have no knowledge yet. [This discovery of all things existing in pairs earned the British physicist Paul Dirac the Nobel Prize in 1933]"

The verse does not say that Allah has created pairs of men and women with abnormal psyche and behavior." Allah has put other verses too...

- viii And that He it is Who creates the two companions, the male and the female (pairs and opposites among His creation),

And all things We created in pairs and in opposites (such that one complements the other), so that you may reflect.

The above verse does not say anything about pairs( natural or unnatural). (gender neutral). What you consider unnatural is natural to others. Polygamy is prohibited in Christianity but permitted under certain circumstances in islalm. People hate a lot of things... watch this video at the end " christians classifying Islam as a disease like homosexuality". . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_RnSwCXSprA @ 7:25

"4:16 If the two of you spread such immorality or lewdness in the society, punish both of them (as determined by the appropriate court of law). But if they repent and mend their ways, leave them alone. God is the Acceptor of repentance, Merciful. [This verse includes homosexuality, male and female, also a heterosexual couple committing lewdness in public] "

Why not lash all the Hindus, Buddhists, atheists and agnostics for fornication/adultery without giving them the right to marry? Denying same sex couples the right to marry and then applying the same sura is a violation because no right minded person will have sex in public. If having sex in public is a problem, then grant the right to have sex in private.

civil unions/ civil marriages exist in an Islamic states for other religions.

Christianity bans divorces and polygamy but Islam permits both of them.
Christian priests dont get married but islam permits our imams to do so.
Obviously a Christian marriage is not a Islamic marriage.

Another example of why Islam allows Imams/clergy to get married whereas Christianity wants them exercise celibacy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XXipt80lb48.

Even heterosexuals give up when it comes to controlling their sexual desires. It would be fair for Christians to use sura 4:16 or something like that, if they have it in their bible and punish the heterosexuals for these.

A growing number of religions/sects have started to accept gay people. One example, in judiasm... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q5P8uWmxOZQ

2:256 … There is absolutely no compulsion or coercion in Religion. ..

2:193 So, fight them (who compel) only until there is no more harassment, and Religion may be adopted for the sake of God alone…

3:20 If they argue with you (O Messenger), tell them, “I have submitted to God; I and those who follow me.” Say to the People of the Scripture, and to those who have no Scripture, “Would you submit to God?” If they submit, then they have been guided but if they turn away, then your duty is only to convey the message. God is Seer of His servants.
