(Is the Quran influencing our character today or not? If yes, how? If not, why not?)
Having pondered over the very pertinent questions, having probed my conscience and having reflected on the way I live my daily life, I can relate to these lines I had read somewhere:
I am not one but three persons:
1. What I think I am
2. What others think I am
3. What I really am.
To believe & appreciate is one thing. To really live your beliefs, irrespective of circumstances is another. The words that ring repeatedly in my mind are 'imaan' & 'taqwa'. Do I have the conviction? Have I made my journey through life secure? I think all the questions posed by Dr. Shabbir have answers that measure my 'imaan' (or the lack of it) & taqwa. Thank you Dr. Saab for posing such easy yet difficult questions. It makes me realize that I have miles to go before I sleep. I need to be concious, listen to my conscience and be wide awake before the slumber seizes.
I pray to Allah to keep us united and help us grow better on every step. I find this forum moving with positive energy. Let's keep this up and contribute to build the ultimate 'muttaqeen' community.
