Hope is not an object. It is not the same tangible thing like sugar, electricity and water. Living in acute crisis of basic resources, hope for the future does not become hope of the future. Without good governance and delivery hope is merely a temporary respite, whose merit always lies in its fruition.
Barring some of his over sensational and unnecessary expressions, I agree with Zaid Hamid’s few points. Pakistan has not been in a hopeless situation. It is only some Pakistanis who become readily impatient about Pakistan. He made another rousing point in his address to children. In the words of American President Franklin Roosevelt; we cannot always build the future to our youth, but we can build our youth for the future. Keep up on those points.
