Well, have you given a thought to the idea that maybe it was God’s will that the US invasion of Afghanistan removed the blatantly unIslamic Taliban government? And it was actually a shame that God chose the non-believers for this heroic task since we “Muslims” were either a) impotent to cause Taliban’s removal, b) applauding their barbaric acts, or c) couldn’t care less?
Why do you want the US pull out? For Taliban to again run amok and destroy girls’ schools and kill aid workers? Or do you want the US to pull out so that the warlords take the reins, overrun the land, and destroy whatever is left?
Have you given a thought to the possibility of Afghanistan finally getting developed and civilized if the untapped natural resources are found there? There will finally be education, health and security for all. Who is going to enable that? Taliban and the warlords? (Incidentally, utilizing natural resources never occurred to them, and with all their “Godliness”, they continued to rely on the illicit opium trade to finance their operations). Or, is the better bet the US, with its expertise in finding and utilizing natural resources? At least the Americans will be drilling the land for resources, while the only drilling Taliban will ever do is drilling nails in coffins.
Please don’t take offence. I don’t mean to be controversial; I just have my thinking hat on, and just considering the possibilities.
You think about it, too.
