Here in Toronto, some Jummah namazis are in a rush to come in and get out (justifiably as they need to go back to their jobs). They park their cars in No Parking Zones. They are in a hurry to leave so they start praying their sunnat namaz (in haste) often blocking others and should they be crossed, you can tell some of them are not amused and they hold their arms up!!

What kind of message are they passing to the wider community of the area and what are they getting from these kinds of prayers performed in a hurry and for a large majority, without understanding it's meaning?

It is all about earning sawwabs and out of fear of punishment. It is about a duty done regardless of the results that this duty is supposed to achieve.

Is fear alone an effective motivator that has positive results for the society?
