Dear Shabbir Bhai, SA
Mashah Allah, that 10 years old child grew up to be a beacon in the middle of dark ocean. He has done the job, which hundreds like me will not be able to accomplish.
I am glad that we are reaching somewhere. I will copy one paragraph from your post. You mentioned:
“When a Muslim child learns through Ahadith that this world is a cadaver and its seeker is a dog, and another Hadith tells him that this world is a prison for the Muslim and a paradise for the “Kaafirs”, the motivation in his heart takes a serious blow. The false dogma is further strengthened when he learns that the paradise in the Hereafter is reserved only for Muslims, that reciting ‘alif laam meem’ gives him the reward of thirty good deeds. Then he loses interest in learning skills and in the betterment of the society.”
What if we help change the learning, perception and expectation of that child??
I was in India in 1998. No matter where I went, there was one song played again and again on radios to the point that it became more popular than the best of the movie songs. The amazing thing was that this song was on the lips of children, teenagers and grown ups all alike. The most repeated line of the song was
“Hum honge kamyab”, and they did in some fields.
At the moment Pakistan is fighting a war, which is more crucial than the war of 1965, or any other war Pakistan ever faced. May be I am missing something or what, I did not hear any patriotic songs, parades, and meaningful public encouragement of the troops. Media is not doing it whole heartedly as well.
As far as my magic 3%. thanks God that the number of hard core, willing to participate extremists in Pakistan is not even 1% of the population. I am talking about the ones who are actively involved in the destructive activities.
I was at a restaurant in Chicago with my wife. There was a meeting and dinner going on at the next table, which was a combination of about four regular tables. All, but one, were in Desi or half baked Arabian clothes and off course the beards and big bellies.
Some one from Hyderabad, India was visiting. I could figure out that he was running Madrasah. He was bragging that 3-4 thousand children are at his 5 outfits. He was also telling the hosts that they have to build high walls and keep Chaukidars and keep doors locked or the children will run away. There was a hearty laughter at this “remarkable” achievement. Off course, the talk quickly shifted to the 2nd coming of prophet Jesus. And his superior the Mehndi. One very rich guy pledged $20,000. right there.
My point is that the money keeps flowing to these idiotic moronic madrasahs in abundance.
I have a concept school in mind. I did approach few well off people in Chicago to feel the support. So far I have not found any support.
Rest later on. Thanks.
