Dr Shabbir, please do not misunderstand me. I am NOT denying the existence of a Rasul or a Prophet. Far from that.
There was a Rasul, a Prophet. Just that his name was not 'Muhammad' as per the Quran. That is all. There is a big difference.
It does not matter if we dont know the Prophet's name. This is also in the Quran. The Quran says 'we have sent before you many messengers, some whom we have made known to you and some whom you do not kno...you shall not differentiate among them etc'
This means there were numerous messengers sent by Allah. Only some of their names are mentioned in the Quran. Many of them are not named.
But we are told to accept all the messengers and not to differentiate between them. The message they brought is more important than who their identities were.
However the point you should keep in mind is that the proper noun Muhammad is NOT written in the Quran. Dont get upset with me please. It is the Author of the Quran who wrote the Quran. Not me.
