Salam,

Brother Arif I had already submitted my reply before yours was posted. About what you had in mind, I had some idea that’s why I wrote the first reply and the second one was for all those who think multiple marriages are alright.

About the verse you quoted on lewdness, actually there is no decency factor in such scenario. If one is allowed to see two three four women all by himself, Quran does NOT stop him from seeing all at the same time. I mean what is left to be called indecent now and for whom exactly. Why is Quran not specific about it if it was lewdness, when it goes on to the point of even stating your "mothers" are not allowed for you? I mean please… don't all even the atheist know how simply out of question this thing is? But is it? Not exactly anything is possible and it’s the social order we are talking about and Allah SWT has always been very specific when it comes to that… so why not how to do justice with women? Wasn’t that important? Or is it that it was never meant to be that way?

So yes dear brother I agree with you, verse 4:3 has been seriously rather grossly misinterpreted probably again due to common prevailing practice by so called muslims(not even that common except for few tharki Arabs)...
Again I have no doubts in my mind. I always wondered how come Allah SWT was "short of words" in this case, that we have to assume and put so many words from our selves and help from history assuming what we know to be understandably right!!! Then I understood why. Once interpreted "as desired", wollahh! The basis of the multiple marriages is set!! It was much easier now to make everyone believe what they wanted to from the verses that followed that verse. Even though it created much contradiction but people never doubted them because it will be like doubting Quran itself PLUS of course the “selfish desires” always play a part!!

This idea had been so much promoted and confirmed to be a norm with ahadiths, sunnah, practice and is engraved in our heads to the point that we can’t even see what is so obvious and simply ignore the order of Allah. It's amazing how so many people simply close their eyes to it. But how can they get away with it?
SubhanAllah this Quran is indeed a miracle. And they can never blow out this guiding light with their Allah always know the best.

jazakAllah
