Thanks for posting this. George Carlin was a great teacher for the soul. Even with his atheistic beliefs, I think he did more to inculcate spirituality in his listeners than the clergy of different religions.
I think his ridicule for organized religion was because he had lost patience with the clergy’s penchant for misleading people. He founded a parody religion called "Frisbeetarianism" (a play on Presbyterianism and Frisbee) and said, "I pray to Joe Pesci because he's a good actor, and looks like a guy who can get things done”. The insinuation was that the clergy can’t get anything done, even though they claim to act on God’s behalf. He also poked fun at the profiteering schemes of the clergy by differentiating it with atheism’s objectives: "Atheism is a non-prophet organization."
What better way to thank you, Br. Mubashir, than repeating George Carlin’s blessing, “May the forces of evil become confused on the way to your house.”
