Raising kids in Islam

Ourbeacon is a beacon of the pristine Islam. Both my son and daughter have started taking a lot of interest in this true Deen.

I have raised my children in a way that they can question us on anything and have not imposed religion on them but shown the way through our own actions. They understand the truth as naturally as it should be alhumdulillah. I told them that eventually they themsleves have to decide which way they want to go and be responsible for it. May Allah keep them on the right path.

My daughter has already read most of your writings and is very active in discussions about true Deen even with her Islamic teacher who is purely Number Two (N2I). I have told her to mellow down a bit because of the environment we are living in. She asks a lot and that challenges many of her peers.

The youngest one already opted out of Islamic studies without telling me and taken up moral education instead. He told me that here is nothing they teach from Quran but all ahadees and even more about who Abu Hurera was and his praises. That's how they brain wash the youth.

Respected Sister!

You seem to have adopted the right approach toward your kids. Mellowing down in discussions is important anywhere in the world. Argumentation defeats its own purpose.

The Abu Huraira bit is a lesson for all.
