Dear Mr. Badar,
Somewhere I read
“Translations are like beautiful women,
If beautiful then not faithful,
And if faithful then not beautiful”
(Not a statement of fact and should be considered as such.)
But Dr. Shabbir Sahib has successfully broken this jinx. His translation is beautiful and faithful too.
QXP: 109:1 Say, “O You who deny the truth, and, thus, by remaining ungrateful to the Creator’s Ultimate guidance, choose to live in darkness!
Badar: 109:1 Wake you, lethargic in unwise actions, the ones hiding the sufficient and fulfilling knowledge; due to the denial of facts and the ingratitude of all benevolent acts.
In your translation it seems that Allah is addressing / cursing / declaring / passing his judgment directly to me and against me.
The whole role of The Exalted Messenger got lost in your translation besides other limitation of your translation.
Mr. Badar Sir, if dictionary alone could serve the purpose of translation than writing a software program which would use Lane’s Dictionary to translate Quran’s Arabic in English would be much easier.
