“We do not find many other things in the above list that we must do and if you read my lenghthier post on Parwez Saabs understanding of saum, it will be clearer. Salam and keep pondering, for only through careful thought do we keep our minds mentally exercised.”
Thanks, Brother Jawaid. Sorry, but my post was in response to brother Anwer who asked;
“We are removing the false namaz and roza from our lives, but what are we adding to become true muslims?”
That one verse was just a sample from the Quran showing what we can do to become true Muslims and earn rewards from our Creator. Obviously, some brothers were not satisfied with the list from one verse only. Still others assumed that I knew only about this verse in the Quran and nothing else. They do not know I study the Quran with understanding and take notes. I have a notebook full of notes taken from the Quran. And it contains a long list on this topic alone. This is part of a project that I plan to complete sometime in the future. Hence, I will not discuss it further until it is complete.
I have read Allama Parwez Shaib’s point regarding Soam as well as Namaz. As far as I know even Brother Dr. Shabbir does not agree with Allama Parwez on many issues including Namaz.
Can anybody answer a simple question? How come the same thing Quran prescribes as a penalty for various violators on five occasions, suddenly becomes a blessing or gift just for one occasion?
Who goes to jail? Of course jails are built to keep killers, thieves, rapists, and other criminals locked up. What if government orders all adult citizens to spend 30 days in jail every year to learn restraint and build character? Would you agree?
