“This may be an exercise for intellectuals and scholars, but most Muslims would be more interested in simple and straightforward translations or interpretations of the Divine message.”

I feel Quranic truth cannot be individual or specific to some one whether one has shallow or deeper understanding of its words. Otherwise this Book becomes a Quran of individual personality. Quranic truth is universal, same truth for every one, studious or otherwise.

It is our heart and inspiration that in conjunction with Quranic words fills us with the truth. The idea of intellectuals and scholarly understanding of Quran is not an issue in linking man with divine. Think how the Quran was revealed.

Quranic words are guidance for man but it is not his goal. The ultimate aim is not to see something with different angles, but to be something. No matter how we look at Quranic words, our reality lies in our directive attitude, about becoming something. I think this is the heart of the matter.
