Edip's approach is not based on Sunnah practice (which indeed is mostly based on Jewish and Persian ritualism), but on his religious approach to certain terms in the Qur'an. The linguistic terms as Salat, Hajj, Malaikah etc. are not approached objectively and contextual as he normally does with other terms in the Qur'an (especially concerning humane issues), but with a preconceived notion that has its roots in dogma.
There are many development stages between non-dogmatic understanding of the Qur'an and Sunnism. We are all on different levels and this must be respected. When it comes to human rights in the Qur'an and to public debating Sunni/Shi'i clergy about Hadith, Edip is an expert and great activist.
